Graduate Studies Plan (PEC-PG)

The Student Program – Graduate Studies Plan (PEC-PG) selects international citizens from developing countries for graduate studies in Brazilian post-secondary institutions. The PEC-PG is an educational cooperation activity exercised exclusively with countries in which Brazil shares an Agreement of Cultural and Educational Cooperation.
The program is jointly administered by the National Council of Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq); the Coordinating Body for the Improvement of Post-Secondary Students (CAPES); and the Division of Educational Themes (DCE), under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE). Scholarship amounts granted to foreigners are equivalent to those paid to Brazilian students.

• Doctoral scholarships (up to 48 months, CAPES);
• Exemption from school fees, funded in accordance with agency standards and criteria;
• Round trip airfare for scholarship recipients who defend their thesis or dissertation.
